Message From The Principal
End of Academic Year Message from our Principal – Ms. Parie Stoneman
“Connecting home and school makes us a great community of learners!”
Dear DGPS Community,
As we draw towards the close of this academic year, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the kindness and support I have received since starting as Principal in January. I feel truly blessed to have such amazing students who always bring a smile to my day. They are the reason I am so committed to taking DGPS to new heights, knowing I have the support of our esteemed parents, dedicated staff, and incredible students.
Since January, we have implemented several initiatives to enhance our educational experience. These include the introduction of in-school extracurricular activities, where all students participate in fun activities that stimulate other skills and provide a holistic approach to learning. We have also established an ‘acknowledgment and rewards’ system to celebrate each of our students and their unique talents, as well as made tweaks to the school uniform to ensure our students look smarter and are ready for learning. These initiatives have already shown positive results and I am eager for us to remain consistent and carry them through into the next academic year and beyond.
I strongly believe in working together with kindness, humility and respect, setting those expectations for us all to follow. As DGPS continues to evolve, I invite you to join me on this journey, keeping the best interests of our children at the very heart of everything we do.
Reflecting on the past year, we have accomplished so much and should be immensely proud of our students’ growth and development. Our students’ drive to constantly excel, our staff’s tireless efforts to improve, and our parents’ unwavering support, have all been crucial to our success.
“A leader’s courage to fulfil his vision comes from passion, not position.” – John C. Maxwell. As your Principal, I am committed to being a strong, confident and dynamic leader who, with the support of our community, will guide DGPS to even greater success while ensuring we remain grounded in our core values.
“There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.” – Nelson Mandela. My passion for education, and our community, drives my vision for our school’s future and, together, we can achieve excellence.
DGPS is unique and, as we grow, we should aim to excel while remaining true to our roots. It is vital that we work together to ensure the changes we implement directly benefit our students. As a team, we are all committed to, and responsible for, providing the best education possible for our children.
I wish you and your families a wonderful and relaxing summer break. Please take time to enjoy yourselves and rejuvenate. I am looking forward to the next academic year and the continued success we will achieve together.
Warm regards
Ms. Parie Stoneman
